My name’s James, and I’m a composer from the UK.
Thanks so much for checking this out. Thought it’s easier to send you examples in a neat way here - so you can digest everything as easily as possible. I can see from the twitter thread that you have a ton of amazing options already, so I’ll keep this as brief and concise as I can. The three examples below showcase some relevant examples whilst giving you a sense of the breadth of my writing and the calibre of my production.
DISCOVERY AWAITS
A track written early last year for a space video game concept score - for a bear-like alien race called the Torlain who have a strong sense of spirituality, tribalism, and exploration. A lot of people have told me that it reminds them of the Halo scores, which is hardly surprising given those themes! My track begins with the Torlain’s plainchant theme, which is embellished in a more exciting arrangement at 45 seconds, before a rich, uplifting B-section theme at about the 2 minute mark.
TRIBULATION
A more action-oriented cue, I think quite well suited to a Halo ODST world. No break-down needed for this one - it’s only 70 seconds long.
HYPERSPACE
The main title cue for the space game I mentioned above. As the game was still in development (sadly it’s now been mothballed), there were no visuals, so I made a simple text based video to accompany the track to indicate the narrative. You can watch it below, if you like!
